Moving can be hard on the whole family, even on your furry members. If you’re living with pets, it can be hard to know what to do when moving into a new home.
Here are a few ideas on how to ease your pet into your new place.
- Whenever possible, bring your pet to visit the new home prior to moving. Let them sniff around and get familiarized with the new location.
- A day or so prior to the move, let your furry friend stay with friends or relatives, it can panic them to see the house being emptied out.
- Put all their items together in the same box and don’t include anything else. Be sure to unpack their things and place the before you bring your pet. It will give them a sense of belonging when they find their bed and food dishes.
- Play with your pet on the first day you’re in the new home. Tire them out to help rid them of nervous energy.
